Peaches by Jodi Lynn Anderson6/10/2023 ![]() ![]() One thing's for sure - it's going to be a juicy summer. And, of course, they learn the trick to picking a perfect peach. Thrown together at Darlington Orchard, Murphy, Leeda, and Birdie discover what it means to find a real soul mate, and that sometimes cute boys know a lot about peach cider. In Peaches, three girls come together in the Darlington Georgia Peach Orchard to pick the sweet. This fondness inspired two of her novels, both set in a peach orchard. The move took her away from her favorite foods, including Georgia peaches, peach pie, and peach ice cream. But now that her parents are getting divorced, Birdie would rather spend the summer in the A/C eating Thin Mints than pick another peach - too bad she doesn't have a choice. Author Jodi Lynn Anderson moved from Atlanta, Georgia, to Costa Rica. Birdie Darlington used to dance around her family's orchard picking peaches for fun. Now Leeda's country-club summer is out the window - she'll be getting a serious sock tan working at her uncle's peach orchard instead. Unfortunately, Leeda's parents aren't too keen on her being touched anymore. In this last book, the author did a marvellous job of tying up loose ends and placing a heartfelt bow on this lovely series. Birdie, Leeda and Murphy became like friends to me, and it was exquisite to experience the wonder of the Darlington peach orchard with them. ![]() Leeda Cawley-Smith has professionally whitened teeth and the softest skin her boyfriend has ever touched. The Peaches series by Jodi Lynn Anderson is among my all-time favourites. But when she's caught stealing from the Darlington Orchard, she's forced to repay her debt picking peaches in the hot Georgia sun. Murphy McGowen has bright green eyes, a reputation as the wildest girl in Bridgewater, and a way of getting out of all the trouble she gets into. ![]()

The Next Everest by Jim Davidson6/9/2023 ![]() ![]() ![]() Pausing to pay them his respects, Davidson contemplates other ice fields above him on the trail and thinks, “stopping for even a second might give gravity an opening to drop an ice building on us.” The giant mountain offers countless ways to die, including slipping off the rickety ladders that span breaks in the ice.
